Officiating Nikah

“And one of His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves so that you may find comfort in them. And He has placed between you compassion and mercy. Surely in this are signs for people who reflect.”  (Qur’an, 30:21)

MCC offers full Nikah services to Muslims according to Islamic teachings, including conducting Islamic nikah by the Imam, documentation and registering the marriage. MCC requires the couple to obtain the marriage license before conducting Islamic nikah.

Premarital Counseling

Receiving counseling, identifying and addressing issues before marriage can prevent most marital conflicts and suffering. Imam Aly Lela conducts a 90 minutes premarital counseling that includes but not limited to: the spiritual, physical, social and emotional objectives of marriage, legal concept of Islamic marriage and the elements of a successful marriage, in addition to questions and answers.

Islamic Marital Counseling

“If you anticipate a split between them, appoint a mediator from his family and another from hers. If they desire reconciliation, Allah will restore harmony between them.” (Qur’an 4:35)

MCC provides Islamic marital counseling services to help married couples recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships through wisdom derived from Quran and Sunnah. The religious and spiritual coaching can help couples make thoughtful decisions on rebuilding their relationship. The counseling is done in private session(s) and all information is treated with confidentiality.

Fatwa

“…Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.”  (Qur’an 21:7)

A Mufti (scholar issuing Islamic verdicts) is a successor of the Prophet ﷺ in clarifying matters that was part of his mission. The Imam at MCC conducts meticulous research to devise best Fatwa (jurisprudential solution) to the issue in question, taking into account all legal proofs and conditions affecting the verdict.

Funeral Prayers

“Every soul will taste death. And We test you (O humanity) with good and evil as a trial, then to Us you will (all) be returned. (Qur’an 21:35)

The MCC has the ability to serve the community members who lost loved ones by providing funeral prayer performed by our Imam, making duaa for the deceased, advising the family during the difficult time, and making duaa during burial.

Zakat Committee

MCC strives to play an integral role in collecting Zakat and distributing them to the needy in the community. Part of our mission is to enrich the lives of the less fortunate ones and strengthen the community financially through collecting and distributing Zakat funds.

The MCC Zakat Committee consists of community members who decide on allocation and distributions of Zakat funds. Importantly, MCC Zakat Committee is supervised by a Sharia Advisory Board, consisting of the honorable Sh. Muhammad Musa and Imam Aly Lela, to ensure that Zakat collection and distribution is conducted in accordance with Islamic law, while abiding by federal, state and local regulations for nonprofit organizations. The Zakat Committee selects the priorities according to the circumstances and needs of the individuals.
